The Bee is an amp shield the doesn't damage the shield capacity when you shoot an amped bullet, it has an insane amp damage and can come with immunities. It use to be (before the Bee was patched) that these two were the OP combo of BL2, but now the CC is Ok and the Bee is still good as long as you can keep your capacity at full.

Extra, Unlisted projectiles work best with the Bee because they gain amp damage on each bullet. Bee shield will always be a glass canon though, no matter how good it is, or what level it is. Thats the trade off. Don't get too reliant on it for stuff that just needs to be done. e.g. if you need to speed run, or the purpose of your play is just to level up your toon, throw on a sturdier shield and run through levels ASAP.
