You may want to pull the old shocks off and go for a test drive to see if the clicking stops. Next things I would look at would be the front axle u joints and wheel bearings.

Take a pry bar to the sway bar and look for play in the link ends. if you find none then replace the bushings on the sub-frame. ive seen lots of both issues. if the steering is sloppy check the tie rods and ball joints.
