How many miles before oil change

I'm sitting at 5,156 miles since new in April and my oil life is at 40%. I've done about 1,500 miles of towing (not very heavy at 7,000 - 8,000 pounds). I wonder what other conditions are triggering the oil change notification earlier for some folks. Engine hours at 202, 42 idle.
