For an idea of my times, I enjoy 10k the most (4:55/km), but run 5k (4:25/km) to half marathon (5:20/km).Not a tall nor heavy guy, but I have the Altra Escalante 2.0 (first zero drop shoes, 80 miles) and New Balance 880v9 (260 miles). I think the Escalante are softer and bouncier and the 880 are firmer and more comfortable for long runs. Even then the pain can be caused by other factors like overtraining. From my side I mostly run in soft and springy New Balance shoes (Rebel v1/v2, RC elite v1/v2). The only shoe with mild stability in mind that I can recommend is the Prism v1 (beware v2 is firmer and weights more, so less exciting but more stable).

Does flare out a bit at the heal. I haven't had any stability issues in it, ranging from 5.00 min/km down to 3.50 min/km. Typical super soft fuelcell. The spongy feel does seem to wear away after a few km, but they still feel great after 10km (furthest I've taken them). The V6 is too plush to be comfortable and stable in the long run, also people say that they are not comfy out of the box. It all depends what you are looking for, if you are not very heavy and prioritize stability over cushioning, then 577, 998 or 911 will probably be the most comfortable for you. The only cushion in the 550 is the insole itself. Other than that it is a brick. as terms of leather low tops, i would say they are more comfortable than reeboks, air force 1s, and dunks. better quality too. since it is a retro style shoe, comfort isn’t gonna be as crazy as boost or any 990 versions of new balance. 990v3-5 are all really comfortable. I personally don't find the 550s to be comfortable. They aren't uncomfortable, just average. 1080v11 or v12 takes the podium followed by the 990v5. The M1400 comes in third place for me. 993 is the comfiest pair I own.
