D., will serve as the Museum’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) as of January 17, 2023. Steinberg brings considerable experience as a cultural leader and expertise as an executive arts administrator to his new role at PEM. PEM’s more recent European art collecting has focused on works that link to other aspects of the collection. Recent acquisitions have enhanced PEM’s already strong maritime painting and ocean liner art collections and added works by European artists who traveled to Asia in the 18th and 19th centuries.
